Intermediate Bag Making

Are you a more confident machine sewist looking for a new way to use your skills? Join Angela who will guide you through creating the lovely 'Lola'; a structured bag with a gorgeous domed shape. Learn how to combine fabric, interfacings and stabilisers, bag hardware and zippers to create a professional-looking handbag perfect for any occasion. this beautiful looking bag can be created using a domestic sewing machine. 

Included in your workshop will be a printed pattern and all the materials to make the 'Lola': interfacing and stabiliser, coordinating thread, fabric, zipper tape and zipper pulls and bag hardware to add the finishing touches and create a sophisticated handbag. A selection of fabrics and bag hardware will be available for you to choose from so you can create something unique and personal. However, if you have your own fabric you feel is destined to become a bag (quilting cotton, cotton canvas, upholstery weight fabric or even faux leather or denim can all be used with differing interfacings and stabilisers to create the signature style of this bag) you will need 1/2 yard 44" wide fabric for the exterior. An iron and board, pins, clips and sellotape will be available on the day for you to use.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day with a light lunch from the Cow Shed Cafe included in the workshop price.

You will need to bring your own sewing machine. You need to be confident using your machine. Your own scissors for fabric and paper would also be useful.

We reserve the right to cancel workshops at short notice should the minimum required attendees not be reached. Purchased tickets will be transferred to alternate events or refunded should a suitable alternative event not be found.

Full payment required on the purchase of ticket. 50% only refundable on cancellation at any time up to 7 days prior to workshop date. No refund for cancellations within 7 days unless we can fill the space and then a transaction fee of £7 will be taken off the refund.
