Free Motion Seascape Picture

Have you ever tried to draw using your sewing machine? This is a wonderful technique called free motion machine embroidery, and when coupled with using applique fabrics, you will be able to create a beautiful textured seascape picture.

During the workshop I will help you understand how to set up and use your sewing machine so that you can begin to doodle and draw simple shapes. I will demonstrate how to create a background using coloured fabric strips, and how to add detail using both textured fabrics, printed text and appliqued images. I will then help you to create your own unique piece of work which can be mounted and taken with you to be framed.

You will need to bring a few things with you, namely a sewing machine capable of free motion work ( most basic domestic machines allow you to drop the feed dogs which is all you need), a free motion darning/ embroidery foot, scissors and some spare needles and bobbins. Full details will provided at time of booking.

The workshop is suitable for beginners, as well as those who have tried some free motion stitching previously.

All main materials are provided along with lunch and refreshments throughtout the day.

We reserve the right to cancel workshops at short notice should the minimum required attendees not be reached. Purchased tickets will be transferred to alternate events or refunded should a suitable alternative event not be found.

Full payment required on the purchase of ticket. Full refund if cancelled up to 4 weeks before, 50% only refundable on cancellation at any time up to 14 days prior to workshop date. No refund for cancellations within 13 days unless we can fill the space and then a transaction fee of £7 will be taken off the refund.
