Beginner's Bag Making

Are you new to sewing with a machine and ready for a new challenge, or a more

experienced sewer who would like an introduction to the world of bag-making?

 

Join Angela for a day of relaxation and fun while trying something new. Angela will guide

you through creating the beautiful ‘Pelican Tote’ which can be made as a structured

handbag or a stow away shopping bag. Learn about choosing co-ordinating fabrics,

pattern placement, inserting a zipper and the use of interfacings and stabilisers to

create a professional-looking bag.

Included in the day is a printed pattern and all materials needed to make the ‘Pelican

Tote’: interfacing and stabiliser and co-ordinating thread and fabrics. An iron and

board, pins, clips, Sellotape and paper scissors will all be available for your use on

the day.

Lunch from The Cowshed as well as cake and drinks throughout the day are also

included.

Skill level:

This workshop is aimed at those who are new to machine sewing or using a pattern

and are looking for the challenge of making something new, or those who would like

an introduction to the wonderful world of bag-making.

What you will need:

You will need to bring your own sewing machine. You need to be familiar with setting

up and threading your machine, changing the needle and bobbin and sewing straight

stitch in both forward and reverse. Your own fabric and paper scissors would also be

useful.

We reserve the right to cancel workshops at short notice should the minimum required attendees not be reached. Purchased tickets will be transferred to alternate events or refunded should a suitable alternative event not be found.

Customer cancellation Policy. 50% refundable up to 7 days prior to the event. No refund within 7 days unless we can refill the space, there will also be a £7 reduced refund due to the transaction costs involved.
